Losing someone we love is never easy. It’s a pain that cannot be put into words. We feel lost and alone with a void that cannot be filled. It’s in these moments of grief that we turn to poetry, readings and music seeking solace in the words and the music transporting us back to a moment in time.
This collection of poems, music, quotations and readings have been put together as suggestions to help you create a meaningful tribute for your loved one.
I have dedicated this publication to my Mother, Patsy, who my family lost suddenly in 2020. ‘PJ’, as we affectionately called her, was a kind and loving soul who touched the hearts of everyone she met. Her passing left a hole not only in our family but also in her community that will never be filled.
As I put this collection together, including a few pieces I have written or adapted myself, I do so with the hope that it will bring comfort to those who have also suffered the loss of a loved one. These poems speak to the pain of grief, the beauty of life and some humour!
